Meet Katie...
Katie qualified as an occupational therapist in 2015 and has over 10 years’ experience in both the NHS and independent practice. She began her career supporting adults with learning disabilities before specialising in children’s occupational therapy over the past eight years. Her experience spans both clinical practice and NHS leadership, giving her a wealth of expertise in supporting children, families, and collaborating with schools, health services, and social care.
Katie believes that every child is unique, and occupational therapy should be practical, tailored, and easy to use in everyday life. She focuses on providing clear strategies and personalised support that empower families, helping children to thrive at home, at school, and in their communities. Her approach is calm, practical, and collaborative, ensuring recommendations are achievable and meaningful for each child and family.

Professional Journey
Qualifications
Katie is a fully qualified Occupational Therapist, holding an honours degree and professional registration with the HCPC. She is also a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapy. Her journey has been shaped by over ten years of practice within both the NHS and independent practice, focused on helping children reach their full potential through compassionate, evidence-based support.
Clinical background
Katie has experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism, ADHD, and developmental coordination difficulties. Katie's approach is child-centred and practical, drawing on sensory-based strategies alongside other techniques I’ve developed through clinical experience in the NHS and independent practice. She works closely with families to find solutions that make everyday life easier and more enjoyable for children and young people.

How We Work Together
-
Understanding Your Child: I start by exploring your child’s strengths, challenges, and what matters most to them and your family—both at home and in school.
-
Collaborative Goal Setting: Together, we clarify meaningful goals that focus on helping your child participate in everyday activities they enjoy and need to do.
-
Flexible Approach: Support can take many forms, from a comprehensive assessment only, to detailed guidance and strategies for parents, caregivers, and educators, or a combination of both.
-
Optional Ongoing Input: If desired, follow-up or intervention sessions are available to provide additional support and ensure strategies continue to meet your child’s evolving needs.
